Alone in a room quiet save for a soft gurgling. The closed space is dim and solitary. With daylight and breezes blocked out, I’ve set the conditions for embarking on an unchartered photographic journey. The landscape I encounter evolves randomly from my subject: water, driving force of all nature. The never-ceasing drama of light and shadows creates infinite forms that are revealed to me only later…and keep drawing me in.
These transmutations tug at some fragment of unconscious memory—perhaps the silent abyss that ancient Greeks called Kaos. I can’t help but chase, and contemplate, this luminous darkness.
